Welcome

Welcome to Philanthrocapitalism week!

As world leaders and corporate chiefs descend on New York, this is going to be a big week for philanthrocapitalism – not just because our book will finally be launched on the 30 September.

Today, 120 of the world’s leading thinkers began three days of deliberation on global challenges such as the problems of Africa, the Middle East peace process and internet governance, under the auspices of the Global Creative Leadership Summit founded by philanthrocapitalist Louise Blouin MacBain. Bill Gates is going to be making a big announcement on malaria on Thursday at the United Nations.

And then there is the “philanthropy oscars” – the Clinton Global Initiative, which kicks off on Wednesday. We’ll be participating at these events and using this blog to comment on the big news breaking during philanthrocapitalism week, as well as reporting back on our conversations with the biggest brains working on some of the world’s biggest problems – from Muhammad Yunus to Bill Clinton.
